So yesterday I sent a message to my Congressman, Mr. John Spratt…
“Would you mind explaining to me why you voted to pass H.R. 1586, which is a bill that enacts a bill of attainder on AIG bonus recipients and is explicitly forbidden by the Constitution of the United States, Article I, Section 9, paragraph 3 which provides that: ‘No Bill of Attainder or expost facto Law will be passed.’?”
I’m looking forward to getting an answer from him.

I have sent Senator Spratt several emails over the past 2 months concerning his support of and his voting records on several pieces of legislation. My question to him was when are you going to represent the taxpaying citizens of South Carolina and not following a party-line vote? I have received not viable response to any of them.
On one occassion I received a generic response giving some propagandized report on his voting record and how he has done “this and that” for South Carolina, to which I responded that I was not interested in propaganda, but I was interested in why he chose to vote for a Party first while the taxpaying citizens of SC took a back seat. I also reminded that he served at the pleasure of the voters. I think many Senators and Congressmen have forgotten that. They seem to think they have autonomy.
I personally do not want my grandchildren and great grandchildren to have to pay for give-away-programs with no limits and no regard for the working citizens who pay for such programs.

He has never responded to my letter.
If I knew I had a chance in hell of winning, and had support, I’d run against him. Unfortunately I don’t have big money backing me like he does. The idea of a common person holding a congressional seat has been destroyed by all the money in politics.
I wonder what chance I would have? Do you think I could get people to support me running against him?
