On April 23 don’t worry about what the hippie alarmist are saying. Do what makes you feel good. Leave your lights on. Drive a hummer. Pour oil on a duck.

I’ve seen others create some intros for Star Wars and Star Trek based on the old Dallas TV series opening credits and I thought I’d do one for my favorite series, Battlestar Galactica.
This is a sad story. Without question, the people that did it should be punished. I’m surprised, however, that Mr. Luttrell didn’t go to jail as well. Let me get this straight…Mr. Luttrell chased some guys through four counties at speeds of over 100mph, because someone shot his dog? As he said, “That’s murder in my book.” Well I’m sorry, but Mr. Luttrell’s book isn’t the law. What if he caused an accident and killed a family (you know…wife, kids, etc.)? Then when questioned as to why he was chasing people at extreme speed so far from his home, he said “because they killed my dog”. He would be guilty of murder, probably manslaughter at the very least.
Does the fact that he is a returning injured military veteran give him special rights to do stuff like this? Hell no it doesn’t. He is NOT a police officer and has NO authority to chase anyone. If I was the police officer on the scene I would have arrested Mr. Luttrell too.
I do not dispute his right to defend himself and his property, but that is not what he did. He left his property. He chased some thugs over four counties at over 100mph by his own admission, all because “they shot his dog”. Are the thugs guilty? Hell yes they are, and should have the book thrown at them.
Many people are speaking out in support of him, because he is a returning vet that went through hell in Afghanistan, and we should support our veterans. Does that give him a right to run rampant through the countryside taking the law into his own hands? No. If these thugs had kidnapped a family member, lets say his mother, or possibly a sister or daughter, would it then be acceptable to endanger the community while pursing them? Yes, because a human life was in danger. But that is not the case. The fact is, he gave dangerous pursuit of these criminals all because “they shot his dog”.
Now let me ask you this, is the life of your husband, wife, or child, worth the life of a dog? Of course it isn’t. But the people who unconditionally support this guy for his behavior would have you think it was. The reasoning is again that he is a returning vet and a hero, and that we should support him. Now put the fact that he is a returning war veteran out of your mind, that is irrelevant to this. Now ask yourself this: If he caused an accident that killed your family member, be that your husband, wife, kid, etc., how would you feel about his pursuit of these criminals then?
I feel he broke the law just as much as the criminals in this instance that shot his dog, and at the very least should be given a severe citation for it. I understand how I may be coming across as a jerk, and I’m sorry. I’m just pointing out common sense and rule of law which is the very thing that he fought for in Afghanistan. I have utmost respect for members of our military. I thank Mr. Luttrell wholeheartedly for his service. I’m extremely conservative in my political views. I have no compassion what-so-ever for the guys that killed the dog. I have the greatest respect for Mr. Luttrell and support his right to shoot the bastards that did it if they were on his property. However, I cannot support his actions once he left his property. With all things considered this is what we have: We have a private citizen that engaged in a dangerous, high speed pursuit of people, over four counties, because they killed his dog.
Common sense is all I am asking for people. Lets put things into perspective. At the end of the day, despite what the dog’s name was, how Mr. Luttrell came to own the dog, or what Mr. Luttrell has done in the past, Mr. Luttrell displayed reckless behavior in the pursuit of criminals, who at most were guilty of cruelty to animals and maybe guilty of unlawful discharge of a firearm.
UPDATE 4-08-2008: A video that has part of Luttrell’s 911 call as he is chasing the individuals who he claims shot his dog. It find it interesting that the dispatcher has the same reaction that I did, at :40 seconds in the video she says “You’re chasing them because they shot your dog?” and then at 1:15 she tells him not to speed…
It is important to call each and every politician, regardless of party affiliation, on any wrong doings they may be a part of. Americans must remember that Congressmen are elected by we the people, and are answerable to us for their actions or lack thereof.
Barney Frank is Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. I think its important to understand who it is that we are talking about and what motivates him in his decisions. This is a quote from that committee’s website financialservices.house.gov:
“The Committee oversees all components of the nation’s housing and financial services sectors including banking, insurance, real estate, public and assisted housing, and securities. The Committee continually reviews the laws and programs relating to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Reserve Bank, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and international development and finance agencies such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.”
So with that description, it is clear that this committee oversees laws and policy that governs financial aspects of our nation. Now as I have stated before Barney Frank servers as Chairman of that committee, and with that position comes power to influence it, control it, and limit debate on issues. So in that position he holds a large amount of power over the United States financial policy. (To see an example of Barney Frank exercising and abusing his power, please look at the brief video below and description.)
Facts concerning what is being talked about in the previous video as of October 2008:
- Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s home district includes San Francisco.
- Star-Kist Tuna’s headquarters are in San Francisco, Pelosi’s home district.
- Star-Kist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to Pelosi.
- Star-Kist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of the Samoan workforce.
- Paul Pelosi, Nancy’s husband, owns $17 million dollars of Star-Kist stock.
- In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25, Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than their competition’s.
- In October 2008, when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an ‘economic development credit in American Samoa’ that is available to companies operating there.
With the understanding of Barney Frank’s influence on the House Financial Services Committee, lets look at what industry sectors made financial contributions to him and his political campaign. These numbers were taken from documents released by Barney Frank’s 2007 - 2008 political campaign and are located at OpenSecrets.org.
- Securities & Investment $236,500
- Real Estate $221,351
- Insurance $202,548
- Lawyers/Law Firms $187,728
- Commercial Banks $120,950
- Misc Finance $85,900
- Accountants $74,150
Also Fannie and Freddie Mac’s contributions to Barney Frank as seen at OpenSecrets.org
- Frank, Barney D-MA $40,100
Now I ask you, can a congressman that accepts such contributions as these be trusted with overseeing a committee that serves as an oversight committee to the financial policies of our nation? Can no one else see that these contributors, despite what you may be told by the contributors and even Frank himself, are buying Frank’s influence?
It is important that American citizens hold our elected representatives accountable for what they have done. They created the situation that we are in. The video below is an example of what we all should be doing to our congressmen.
I posted the stuff below on the Blizzard Forums yesterday. I’m re-posting it here for everyone to learn from it and not get fooled by scammers.

I woke up this morning and got the same thing. Needless to say I knew better than to click any links. I knew something was fishy about it. For one thing, the email address the stupid F’s used is not the email address I use with my WoW account. That means they lifted that email address off my website. Gang of stupid bastages…you gotta do better than that if you want to trick me!
I’m pasting my copy below. Blizz, you guys need to send out something immediately, post in the forum, or post something in game to tell people to not click on this stuff. I promise you someone is gonna get hacked by this crap.
Here’s the email I got:

The founding basis of our nation, clearly stated by George Washington, is that we are a nation of laws. The highest law of the land is the United States Constitution, and all laws are derived from it. To depart from the clearly stated mandates of the Constitution invites extreme danger to the rights of citizens. The Constitution is not a document that gives you your rights, instead it is a document that protects your God-given rights and limits the power of government to certain boundaries.
It has been said time and time again that absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Constitution’s role is designed to limit the power, and thus the tyranny, of the government. At all times government must be actively limited to the powers expressly granted to it by the Constitution, especially when others try to expand those governmental powers or overstep their constitutionally mandated bounds. To do otherwise invites the spread of governmental tyranny and abuse like a cancer. Always remember, the government never gives you anything for free, it is always at the cost of part of your most precious asset, your freedom.
What we see below is a clear abuse of governmental power. Look carefully and you will see the face of tyranny.
I’m so sick of the way things are going in my country. America is having some serious financial problems and politicians want to play *%&$ing games. We are on the verge of an outright depression. We are seeing events not all that different from those that brought about the Great Depression. And who do we have to blame for it? The politicians!
The Federal Reserve Bank is printing money like its going out of style. They injected 1 Trillion dollars into the American economy on March 18, 2009. This will cause incredible inflation of the dollar. All of this has happened before…in Pre-WWII Germany. It took a wheel barrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread. Americans have GOT to wake up!
Please please please. Watch the following videos and voice your opinions on here and then contact your congressmen. I plan to mail a tea bag to my congressmen…
So yesterday I sent a message to my Congressman, Mr. John Spratt…
“Would you mind explaining to me why you voted to pass H.R. 1586, which is a bill that enacts a bill of attainder on AIG bonus recipients and is explicitly forbidden by the Constitution of the United States, Article I, Section 9, paragraph 3 which provides that: ‘No Bill of Attainder or expost facto Law will be passed.’?”
I’m looking forward to getting an answer from him.
